Unfortunately it seems as if every Oliver Stone film has some type of backlash. Even the more celebrated ones like Platoon and JFK. Recently on rottentomatoes.com I've realized that the tomato-meter has gone down for most Oliver Stone films which is quite discouraging. Does this mean that Stone's films don't age well? I certainly don't think that but there is still way too much backlash against Stone films. Typically when a new great war film is out like The Hurt Locker I hear critics say its much better compared to Platoon.
